Thanks to everyone who came out to Interesting Vancouver tonight. A sold out venue is a great sign that Vancouver has an appetite for more of these types of events.
I’ll be posting links to the references that I spoke about on my academic blog I Am User Generated.
I’m super honored to be among the speakers listed at Interesting Vancouver. This is an unconference that brings speakers together from all walks of life just to share something interesting about their passions. The list includes, authors, planners, engineers and, ah, me. I hope I can live up to the bio that organizer Brett MacFarlane has crafted for me. Blush… I think there is still some tickets if you’re up for an interesting cultural event in a beautiful location. See you there.
I haven’t been this excited about a new camera release in a long time. This finally brings my cinematography training and my still photography together all in one camera. I haven’t seen footage this great from any camera, shot on any medium. Photographer/Cinematopher Vincent LaForet does a great job testing and designing this camera. This link shows the footage the best, but hosting was down last time I checked.
Here’s a simple YouTube embed as well, but the uncompressed version is better.
I’m moving and found some old MiniDV tapes. Here’s an old spec commercial I made for Adidas when I was shooting another project in Florence. Now with video share I can finally upload all these old crappy movies. Oh, to be young again.
Thanks to the AP for the heads up on this short doc by Sean Dunne. It tells the tale of the largest record collection in the world. The collection is valued at 50 million, he’s asking for 3 million. No serious buyers have been found.
