Becoming Self Determining Online
This project started September 15th 2007 when I purchased JamesChutter.com. In an attempt to be a more self-determing human being I needed to buy my own name and control the content on that site. However, when I googled my own name all my acting credits, teaching credits and consulting bios appeared first on the list of search results. I am now attempting to get JamesChutter.com as the number one search result for James Chutter in hopes of being able to control the perception of myself online.
September 15 2007: Purchased and hosted jameschutter.comjameschutter.com nowhere to be found in search results
Septerber 21 2007: Designed a place holder sitejameschutter.com nowhere to be found in search results
December 14 2007: After adding more content to jameschutter.com the ranking is sometimes on page 3 of results but usually on page 4.
December 25th 2007: AVP2: Requiem is released adding a new credit to my acting pages thus bumping jameschutter.com down to page 5.
January 12th 2007: Added URL to spider crawlers for Google, Ask, Yahoo and GigaBlast. jameschutter.com page 3
January 25th 2008: After adding meta tags and an SEO plugin, I’m on page 2 for google. However my new venture as a citizen journalist on Now Public is appearing well before my home page.
Febuary 15th 2008: Now on page number one of google search results. It’s only a matter of time before I usurped IMDB.
August 18th 2008: Tracking down IMDB is proving unsuccessful mostly due to the fact that I keep getting new acting credits but I take heart in the fact that I’ve scored a 62 on the Vanity Validator.
